Evaluation on effect of SWOT analysis on improving quality of convalescent nursing management for submarine officers and soldiers

Abstract:

Objective To explore the impact of applying advantages, disadvantages, opportunities, and threat analysis (SWOT
analysis) in improving quality of convalescent nursing management for submarine officers and soldiers. Methods Totally 420 submarine officers and soldiers who recuperated in Tianjin Rehabilitation Center from April 2018 to April 2019 were selected,and they were divided into two groups, each with 210 cases. The control group received routine recuperation. The observation group implemented SWOT analysis to improve the nursing quality management scores and management scores and nursing satisfaction of submarine officers and soldiers. Results The nursing quality scores of convalescents with SWOT analysis were significantly improved. The treatment area management score was 92.04±30.20, the professional level score was 93.06±30.20, the communication ability score was 95.54±31.20, and the self-identity score was 98.16±33.10, and the differences were statistically significant compared with the control group(all P<0.01). The satisfaction was also significantly improved, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusion The SWOT analysis to submarine officers and soldiers can improve the quality of nursing and satisfaction, and achieve the purpose of real recuperation.
