Occupation and Health is a semimonthly journal started in 1985. It is jointly sponsored by Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and Tianjin Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with the assistance of All-China Federation of Labor，The National Committee of Economy and Trade and Suzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is a comprehensive nation-class scientific journal of preventive medicine and openly published at home and abroad.
The tenet of Occupation and Health is to take people as the foremost and to treasure human rights and interests of occupational health; its characteristics are to combine academic research and practicability, to study and share scientific methods and successful ways of protecting various occupational people’s health, to study and share various examinations and clinic experience of preventing, curing and controlling various occupational diseases and to make the greatest contribution to enhancing occupational health level of people in China and even the whole world.
As an all-round medical journal, the central content of Occupation and Health is occupational medicine, prevention and health care, and basic medicine, including occupational health and occupational disease control, health care, and collection, display and exchange of other scientific experiments and clinical experience, etc. Its main sections are treatise，field survey of occupational health，occupational disease and occupation-related disease; experiment, monitoring and inspection，sanitary engineering effect evaluation , food safety and nutrition, epidemiology and preventive health care, environment and health，school hygiene，etc. Published academic papers include the following fields: basic study on the effect of occupational and environmental hazards on human body; occupational epidemiology and field survey on labor hygiene; clinical analysis on occupational diseases, new methods of diagnoses and treatment, on-spot emergency treatment of chemical poisoning; management of industry sanitation; sanitary criteria; study on epidemic toxicology; monitoring of environmental hazards; labor prevention technology and evaluation; survey and study on diseases related to occupation and new hazards; food safety and nutrition; school hygiene; countryside hygiene , etc.
Occupation and Health is one of the flagship journals of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association(CPMA) . It is a national comprehensive journal of medical science distributed both in China and abroad, with published articles from various provinces, autonomous regions and cities. It has minimum publication cycle and maximum amount of information among nearly hundred kinds of CPMA series journals. Occupation and Health plays an important role in academic exchange of occupational health, preventive medicine, public health and primary health care. It has been named for the 'Outstanding Journal “ of CPMA, and also has been rated as the core journal of science and technology by Ministry of Science and Technology. Occupation and Health has been collected by China Science and Technology Statistics Source Journal, Chinese Journal Full-Length Database. A total of 346 English abstracts were collected by American Chemical Abstracts (CA) database. Occupation and Health was indexed by Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index Quarterly Supplement Introduction No.4，2009，List of 1000 Journals most frequently referenced in Chemical Abstracts (ranked 408), as well as Index Copernicus, CABI and Ulrich PD, Ulrich's Periodicals Directory.
The layout of Occupation and Health adopts international standard of 16K version, with English copyright page, table of contents page, and English title and abstract of all articles.
