Investigation on mental health of recruited civilian personnel to society in a certain army

Abstract: Objective To understand the mental health status of recruited civilian personnel to society in a certain army,provide reference basis for developing mental health care in the future. Methods A total of 1 430 people were collected,who have participated in the recruitment of civilian psychological test to the society by a certain army in the Department of Health Medicine in the No.980 Hospital of PLA Joint Logistics Support Forces from January 1,2018 to December 31,2019 and met the inclusion criteria. The symptom check-list 90(SCL-90) was collected by the psychological evaluation and management(PEM),to carry out the psychological examination. The differences among gender,marriage,age,education level,monthly income and other factors were analyzed,to understand their psychological status and find out their potential psychological problems. Results Among the recruited civilian personnel to society in a certain army,there were 64(4.48%) people had the psychological problem tendency,1 076(75.24%) people were at the level of mental health,and 290(20.28%) people were at mental sub-health. The total score of SCL-90 in males[(100.67±13.60)points] was higher than that in females[(99.14±11.57)points],and there were statistically significant differences in the total score of SCL-90 and scores of obsessive-compulsive symptoms,interpersonal sensitivity,paranoia and sleep status between different genders(all P<0.05). The total score of SCL-90 in unmarried people[(100.37±12.17)points] was higher than that of married people[(99.29±13.70)points]. The total score of SCL-90 in people aged 18-<30 years old [(100.83±12.21)points] was higher than that of people aged 30-≤45 years old[(99.18±13.19)points]. The gender was risk factors for tendency of psychological problems(OR=0.447,P<0.05). Conclusion The mental health of recruited civilian personnel to society in a certain army is good,and it is suggusted that special attention should be paid to the mental health of people of young age,low monthly income,and unmarried.
