Analysis on current situation and influencing factors of mental health literacy of students in public security college in Shandong Province

Abstract: Objective To understand the status and influencing factors of mental health literacy of students in a public security college in Shandong Province,provide scientific basis for improving their mental health literacy. Methods Using cluster sampling method,a questionnaire investigation was performed on 388 students from a public security college in Shandong Province by self-made general demographic questionnaire and adolescent mental health literacy assessment scale from October to November 2021. Results The score of mental health literacy of 388 students in a public security college in Shandong Province was (74.81±10.92) points. The results of multiple linear regression showed that grade,mother's education level,academic performance,interpersonal relationship and participation in psychological activities were the independent influencing factors of mental health literacy of students in public security college(all P<0.05). Conclusions The mental health literacy of students in a public security college in Shandong Province is at a lower level. The college students with higher the grade,the higher education level of mother,the better academic performance,the better interpersonal relationship,and have participated in mental health activities have higher the mental health literacy level. The school educators should establish universal and specific intervention strategies to improve the mental health literacy of studentsin public security college,so as to promote their mental health and reduce the occurrence of psychological problems.
