Abstract: Objective To explore the status quo of mental health promotion behavior among internal medicine medical staff in tertiary general hospitals and its relationship with adversity quotient and work-family behavior role conflict. Methods From June to August 2023,a convenience sampling method was used to study 378 internal medicine medical staff from 10 tertiary general hospitals in 5 regions of Sichuan Province. The mental health promotion scale, adversity quotient scale and work-family behavior role conflict scale were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the research subjects, and the data were analyzed. Results The mental health promotion score of 378 internal medicine medical staff was (147.18±25.91)points,the score of adversity quotient was (145.61±32.76)points,the score of work-family behavior role conflict was (79.68±11.69)points. Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of mental health promotion among different marital and reproductive status, job types, department atmosphere, whether or not to work on duty, health status, exercise status, sleep quality, work pressure, participation in mental health promotion training, and workplace violence(all P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the total score of mental health promotion of internal medicine medical staff in tertiary general hospitals was positively correlated with the total score of adversity quotient and the scores of each dimension(r=0.415-0.675,all P<0.05),and negatively correlated with the total score of work-family behavior role conflict and the scores of each dimension(r=-0.463--0.692,all P<0.05). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that department atmosphere, sleep quality, work pressure, mental health promotion, adversity quotient and work-family behavior role conflict were the main influencing factors of mental health promotion among internal medicine medical staff(all P<0.05),which explained 65.8% of the total variables. Conclusion There is a high level of work-family behavior role conflict among internal medicine medical staff in tertiary general hospitals, and the level of adversity quotient and mental health promotion is not optimistic. Hospital managers can promote the mental health of medical staff by improving adversity quotient and reducing work-family behavior role conflict.
