Methods A total of 243 nursing undergraduate students interning at a grade-A tertiary hospital in Shanxi Province were selected as investigation objects from July to September 2022. The investigation was conducted by the general data questionnaire,Chinese version of conditions of work effectiveness questionnaire(CWEQ-Ⅱ-CV),nursing students competence instrument(NSCI) and professional identity questionnaire for nurse students(PIQN). The relationship among structural empowerment, professional identity and completion ability was analyzed. Results The structural empowerment score of nursing undergraduates was (67.37±5.85)points,the professional identity score was (64.48±7.27)points,the completion ability score was (191.71±23.23)points.The structural empowerment, professional identity and completion ability were positively correlated(all P<0.01).The professional identity played a partial mediating effect between structural empowerment and completion ability, accounting for 29.12% of the total effect. Conclusion The structural empowerment, professional identity and completion ability of nursing undergraduates are at a medium level, the professional identity,as a mediating variable, has an impact on the completion ability of intern nursing students, and improving their professional identity can help improve their completion ability.
