Abstract: Objective To understand the current situation of occupational mental health status and work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) among workers in the thermal power generation industry in Shanxi Province, and to analyze the impact of occupational mental health status on WMSDs,so as to provide a scientific basis for improving their physical and mental conditions. Methods From 2022 to 2023,a multi-stage sampling method was used to survey 1 131 front-line workers in 2 large enterprises,3 medium-sized enterprises, and 10 small enterprises in the thermal power generation industry in Shanxi Province using the occupational stress measurement core scale, the patient health questionnaire, the generalized anxiety disorder scale, and the China musculoskeletal disorders questionnaire to evaluate their occupational mental health status and WMSDs. Results The score of occupational stress[MP25,P75)] of 1 131 study subjects was 48(43,53)points,and the detection rate of occupational stress was 37.0%(419/1 131). The score of depressive symptoms was 8(6,11)points points, and the detection rate of those with depressive symptoms was 83.6%(946/1 131). The anxiety score was 3(1,7)points,and the detection rate of those with anxiety tendency was 41.5%(469/1 131). The score of WMSDs was 3(1,6)points,and the symptom detection rate of WMSDs was 84.2%(952/1 131). There were statistically significant differences in the detection rates of WMSDs symptoms among workers of different ages,self-rated health status, occupational stress, depressive symptoms and anxiety(all P<0.05). Age,education level,self-rated health status, occupational stress and anxiety were the influencing factors of WMSDs(all P<0.05). Conclusion The detection rate of WMSDs symptoms among workers in the thermal power generation industry in Shanxi Province is relatively high, and their occupational mental health conditions may affect the occurrence of WMSDs.
