Abstract: Objective To understand the relationship between social support,self-efficacy and traditional Chinese medicine health(TCM) literacy among nursing undergraduates, explore the mediating role of self-efficacy in the relationship between social support and TCM health literacy. Methods In February 2023,413 nursing undergraduates from a university in Jinan City were selected by convenient sampling. The general information questionnaire, social support rate scale, general self-efficacy scale and TCM health culture literacy questionnaire were used for the investigation, and the data were analyzed. Results The scores of TCM health culture literacy,self-efficacy and social support of 413 nursing undergraduates were (74.59±16.84),(27.32±4.66) and (35.92±7.09)points,respectively. The social support was positively correlated with TCM health culture literacy and self-efficacy(r=0.337, 0.369,both P<0.01),and the self-efficacy was positively correlated with TCM health culture literacy(r=0.387,P<0.01). The self-efficacy had a mediating effect on the relationship between social support and TCM health culture literacy, and the direct effect and indirect effect were 65.5% and 34.5%,respectively. Conclusions There is a correlation between social support,self-efficacy and TCM health culture literacy of nursing undergraduates in a university in Jinan City. The social support can directly affect the TCM health culture literacy, and can also affect TCM health culture literacy through self-efficacy. The self-efficacy plays a partial intermediary role between social support and TCM health culture literacy. The nursing educators can further improve the TCM literacy of nursing undergraduates by improving their social support and self-efficacy.
