Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of the pre-hospital emergency personnel workforce in Shanghai, analyze the factors related to personnel job satisfaction in the pre-hospital emergency system and its relationship with work pressure and burnout, and put forward targeted recommendations and measures. Methods The current work status of the pre-hospital emergency personnel workforce in Shanghai was investigated from July to August 2022,and a cross-sectional survey was conducted on emergency-related personnel in all urban-level medical emergency centres in the city(a total of 10) using a basic information questionnaire,a job satisfaction scale,a job stress scale, and a burnout scale. A structural equation model was constructed to analyze the relationship between job satisfaction, work pressure and burnout among the pre-hospital emergency personnel in Shanghai. Results The job satisfaction score of pre-hospital emergency related personnel in Shanghai was (70.82±16.53)points,the job stress score was (24.25±6.10)points,and burnout score was (40.15±18.00)points,which were all above the medium level. The standardized path coefficient between job satisfaction and burnout among pre-hospital emergency personnel in Shanghai was -0.71,and the two were negatively correlated. The standardized path coefficient between job stress and job satisfaction was 0.88,indicating a positive correlation between the two.Job stress indirectly had a negative effect on burnout through the mediating role of job satisfaction. Conclusion Job satisfaction,as a mediator factor between job stress and burnout, suggests that we need to pay more attention to the needs and development pain points of pre-hospital emergency personnel, improve the working environment through the intelligent construction of the pre-hospital emergency system, focus on cultivating and upgrading the pre-hospital emergency personnel's own ability, improve performance evaluation, optimise the salary system, and stimulate innovation and creativity, which can reduce the job stress and burnout, and improve the job satisfaction of the pre-hospital emergency personnel, and effectively promote the high-quality and sustainable construction of pre-hospital emergency teams.
