Abstract: Objective To analyze the current situation in the field of occupational safety by using the scientific knowledge map, intuitively reflect the research hotspot and development trend in the field of occupational safety, and provide reference for the follow-up research in the field of occupational safety. Methods Based on 12 067 occupational safety papers collected in Web of Science database from 2009 to 2019,the visualization analysis was conducted by the literature visualization software CiteSpace V to study the research areas, institutions, word frequency and hot spots in the field of occupational safety. Results The top two countries with the highest volume of articles in the field of occupational safety from 2009 to 2019 were the United States(4 334 articles) and Canada(953 articles). The top two institutes with the highest volume of articles were the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the United States and the University of Toronto of Canada, with 507 and 248 respectively. The journals with the highest source centrality were the American Journal of Medicine and Environmental and Occupational Health. The research hotspots mainly focused on legislation, government supervision and other fields. Conclusion The number of occupational safety literature shows a rapid growth trend, and the research in the fields of occupational safety technology and behavioral safety has also begun to become a hot spot.
