Abstract: Objective Through the evaluation of occupational hazard control effect of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) treatment unit transformation project of a petroleum refining and chemical enterprise in Guangxi,to provide a basis for the prevention and control of occupational hazard factors of the enterprise. Methods From March 2021 to June 2021,the on-site investigation and detection of occupational health were conducted,to evaluate the control effect of occupational hazards in the enterprise. Results The occupational hazard factors produced in the production process mainly included hydrogen sulfide, benzene, toluene, xylene, solvent gasoline and noise. The test results show that the qualified rates of the measured occupational hazard factors were 100%. The allocation of occupational disease prevention facilities, personal protective articles and emergency rescue facilities met the requirements of relevant national laws and regulations. No occupational related abnormalities were found in occupational health examination. Conclusions The risk of occupational hazards of the project is classified as general. The leakage accidents are easy to occur due to pipeline and valve leakage or equipment wear during normal production. The regular inspection, maintenance or replacement of filler is confined space operation, which may lead to acute poisoning accidents. Therefore, after the project is put into operation, various emergency rescue measures should be strictly implemented, and occupational health management should be strengthened to ensure the occupational health of operators.
