The Chinese version and assessment of reliability and validity of the workplace resilience scale

Abstract: Objective To translate and revise the workplace resilience scale(WRS) into Chinese version,then to assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the WRS. Methods The Chinese version of WRS was formed in the light of the modified Brislin translation model. Totally 317 nurses were selected from eight military hospitals in Shanghai,Beijing and other cities by convenient sampling method from January to March 2022,then the reliability and validity were investigated. Results The Cronbach′s α of WRS was 0.956,split reliability was 0.943. Analysis of content validity of the WRS indicated that the item-level content validity index(I-CVI) was 0.8-1.0,and the scale-level content validity index(S-CVI) was 0.92. Exploratory factor analysis found that the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin(KMO) was 0.964. The Chinese version of WRS consists of 19 items,divided into 4 dimensions: active problem solving,team efficacy,confident sense-making,bricolage,and the cumulative variance contribution rate reached 77.9%. Conclusion The Chinese version of WRS has good reliability and validity,and can be used as a reliable tool to evaluate workplace resilience for nurses.
