Abstract: Objective To understand the status quo of work performance of full-time infection prevention and control practitioners（IPCP），explore mediation of psychological capital on challenge-hindrance stressor and work performance of IPCP. Methods In November 2021，415 full-time IPCP in 112 hospitals of Anhui Province were selected by the convenience sampling method，they were investigated by the general situation questionnaire，challenge-hindrance stressor scale，psychological capital questionnaire and work performance scale，and the data were analyzed. Results The total scores of challenge stressor，hindrance stressor，psychological capital and work performance of 415 full-time IPCP were （22.65±4.58），（13.68±4.24），（103.71±15.60） and （45.01±6.16）points，respectively. The correlation analysis showed that challenge stressor was positively correlated with work performance and with psychological capital（r=0.302，0.293，both P<0.01），hindrance stressor was negatively correlated with work performance and with psychological capital（r=-0.247，-0.357，both P<0.01），and psychological capital was positively correlated with work performance（r=0.791，P<0.01）. The psychological capital played a partial mediating effect between challenge stressor and work performance，and a complete mediating effect between hindrance stressor and work performance. Conclusions The psychological capital plays a mediating effect between challenge-hindrance stressor and work performance of full-time IPCP. Hospital managers should focus on the character of stressor，and actively improve the psychological capital level of full-time IPCP，so as to promote the improvement of work performance level.
