Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and job burnout of employees in new energy enterprises. Methods A random sampling method was used to investigate 119 employees of new energy enterprises by the localized Maslach burnout inventory and neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience-five factor inventory in October 2021,and the data were analyzed. Results The rate of severe job burnout of employees in the new energy enterprises was 0.84%,moderate was 28.57%,and mild was 52.10%. The mean score[(1.70±1.25)points] in the deindividuation dimension of men was higher than that of women[(1.17±0.81)points],and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.771,P<0.05). The age was negatively correlated with the deindividuation dimension(r=-0.156,P<0.05),andpositively correlated with low sense of achievement(r=0.172,P<0.05). Both the monthly income(r=0.156,P<0.05) and the level of education(r=0.246,P<0.05) were positively correlated with the degree of deindividuation. The neuroticism could positively predict emotional exhaustion(β=0.198,P<0.05) and the degree of deindividuation(β=0.251,P<0.05). The extraversion could negatively predict the low achievement dimension(β=-0.311,P<0.05).The conscientiousness could negatively predict the degree of deindividuation(β=-0.258,P<0.05).Conclusion The job burnout of employees in new energy enterprises is serious, there are some certain relationships between job burnout and variables such as gender, age, income level, and level of education, and neuroticism, extraversion and conscientiousness of personality traits could predict the job burnout of employees to a certain extent.
