Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of overweight and obesity among school-age children in urban district of Lanzhou City, provide theoretical basis for the prevention and control of overweight and obesity among school-aged children. Methods Using multistage cluster random sampling method,a total of 1 507 school-age children from 36 classes in six primary schools in Chengguan District of Lanzhou City were investigated for overweight, obesity and influencing factors from February to March 2022,and the data were analyzed. Results The overall detection rate of overweight and obesity among school-aged children in urban district of Lanzhou City was 28.53%,and the detection rates of overweight and obesity were 13.93% and 14.60% respectively. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male(OR=2.205,95%CI:1.716-2.834),father is overweight and obese(OR=1.787,95%CI:1.384-2.307),mother is overweight and obese(OR=1.872,95%CI:1.385-2.530),moderate meal intake(1-<2 bowls/meal,OR=1.911,95%CI:1.316-2.774) or large meal intake(≥2 bowls/meal,OR=3.979,95%CI:1.984-7.981),and eating out ≥2 times/week(OR=1.529,95%CI:1.149-2.035)were associated with high risk of overweight and obesity in school-age children. The grade 5 and 6(OR=0.718,95%CI:0.531-0.972),fresh fruit intake ≥1 time/day(OR=0.676,95%CI:0.488-0.935),moderate eating speed(8-<15 min/meal,OR=0.509,95%CI:0.303-0.855),or slow(≥15 min/meal,OR=0.253,95%CI:0.146-0.440),and caries(OR=0.760,95%CI:0.594-0.973) were associated with low risk of overweight and obesity in children. Conclusion The detection rate of overweight and obesity among school-aged children in urban district of Lanzhou City is relatively high, and personal characteristics, parental factors, dietary behaviors, and oral health status are important influencing factors,so comprehensive prevention and control measures should be taken for high-risk groups according to the epidemiological characteristics.
