Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence and mechanism of well-being literacy of military cadets on their subjective well-being. Methods From November 2022 to February 2023,3 218 military cadets were selected by the whole-group sampling method,a well-being literacy 6 item scale(Well-Lit 6),general well-being schedule(GWBS),emotion regulationquestionnaire(ERQ) and connor-savidsonresiliencescale(CD-RISC-10) were used to survey them, and the data was analyzed. Results The mean scores of well-being,cognitive reappraisal, resilience and subjective well-being of 3 218 military cadets were (34.22±9.76),(32.07±7.68),(30.15±8.25) and (84.82±15.36)points,and both were positively correlated(all P<0.01). The direct effect value of well-being literacy on subjective well-being was 0.130(P<0.05),well-being literacy positively predicted cognitive reappraisal(path coefficient of 0.26, P<0.05) and resilience(path coefficient of 0.11,P<0.05),and the mediating effect of cognitive reappraisal and resilience on the relationship between well-being literacy and subjective well-being of military cadets was significant, with a total mediating effect value of 0.307.There were three main mediating effect chains:(1)well-being→cognitive reappraisal→subjective well-being,with an effect value of 0.018;(2)well-being→resilience→subjective well-being,with an effect value of 0.065;(3)well-being→cognitive reappraisal→resilience→subjective well-being,with an effect value of 0.094.The percentages of the three mediating effect chains in the total mediating effect were 5.9%,21.1%,and 30.5%. Conclusion Well-being literacy as a linguistic competence can empower military cadets to enhance their subjective well-being through the chain of cognitive reappraisal and resilience mediation.
