Abstract: Objective To explore the application and effectiveness of stepwise exercise therapy in the treatment of patients with lower back pain caused by military training injuries. Methods A total of 120 patients with low back pain caused by military training injuries diagnosed and treated from January 2021 to March 2023 were randomly divided into two groups, with 60 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional treatment methods, while the experimental group was treated with conventional treatment methods and stepwise exercise therapy. Step exercise therapy refers to the design of four sets of rehabilitation exercises for the acute and remission stages of lumbar injuries, and the treatment of lumbar injuries through exercise therapy. After threeweeks, the treatment effect of low back pain and lumbar range of motion in the two groups were compared. After three months, the recurrence of low back pain in the two groups was compared through follow-up. Results After treatment for three weeks, the effective rate of treatment in the experimental group(93.33%) was higher than that in the control group(80.00%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment for three weeks, the VAS scores of both groups decreased compared to those before treatment, and the VAS score reduction in the experimental group was greater than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.01). After treatment for three weeks, the lumbar spine activity scores of both groups decreased compared to those before treatment, and the lumbar spine activity score reduction in the experimental group was greater than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After three months, the recurrence rate of low back pain in the experimental group(18.33%) was lower than that in the control group(38.33%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). Conclusion The joint application of stepwise exercise therapy and the basis of conventional treatment can effectively alleviate lower back pain caused by military training injuries, improve the patient's lumbar range of motion, and have a low recurrence rate than that of the basis of conventional treatment used alone, which is worth promoting and using in army.
