Research progress on application of social capital in the field of mental health

Abstract: Social capital is a trust,norms and networks that can enhance social efficiency which is an important source of self-regulation and monitoring for individuals. Related studies have shown that social capital is an important factor affecting mental health. Starting with the concept of social capital,this paper expounds the mechanism of social capital in the field of mental health and its impact on mental health outcomes,and provides a summary and discussion of it. Social capital has an impact on the field of mental health through the main mechanisms of resource mobilization,establishment of informal relationships,cultivation of trust and maintenance of reciprocal relationships,but it also faces problems such as imprecise measures and scattered focus,which makes the development of follow-up systematic assessment tools and mechanism research particularly important.
