Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of perceptual algorithm control and occupational stigma perception on job burnout of the delivery riders, analyze the moderating role of self-efficacy on the relationship between perceived algorithmic control, occupational stigma perception and job burnout. Methods From January to March 2023,the food delivery riders from five sites of a food delivery platform in Taiyuan City were investigated by using the perception algorithm control scale, occupational stigma perception scale,self-efficacy scale and job burnout scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The scores of perception algorithm control scale, occupational stigma perception scale,self-efficacy scale and job burnout scale among 286 food delivery riders from five sites of a food delivery platform in Taiyuan City were (41.50±9.77),(21.69±5.55),(34.27±8.98) and (51.96±11.32)points,respectively. The perceived algorithm control, occupational stigma were positively correlated with job burnout(r=0.487,0.576,both P<0.01),and self-efficacy was negatively correlated with job burnout(r=-0.204,P<0.01). The self-efficacy played a significant moderating role in the relationship between perceived algorithm control and job burnout(β=-0.129,t=2.695,P<0.01),and the self-efficacy had a significant moderating effect on the relationship between occupational stigma and job burnout(β=-0.095,t=2.085,P<0.05). Conclusion The perceived algorithm control and occupational stigma perception of the food delivery riders from five sites of a food delivery platform in Taiyuan City positively affect job burnout, and self-efficacy plays a negative moderating role in perceived algorithm control, occupational stigma and job burnout.
