Analysis on status and influencing factors of work engagement of nurses in psychiatric hospitals of Shaanxi Province

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of work engagement of nurses in psychiatric hospitals of Shaanxi Province,analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide a reference for improving the level of work engagement of nurses in psychiatric hospitals. Methods From June to July 2022,the convenience sampling was used to investigate 444 nurses in psychiatric hospitals in Shaanxi Province with the general information questionnaire,nursing practice environment scale and Utrecht work engagement scale,and the data were analyzed. Results The score of work engagement of nurses in psychiatric hospitals in Shaanxi Province was (3.40±1.69)points,and the dimensional score from high to low was dedication[(3.48±1.76)points],vitality[(3.39±1.72)points] and concentration[(3.32±1.84)points]. The professional title,weekly working hours,nurses' participation in hospital affairs,nursing managers' ability and leadership style were entered into the regression equation(all P<0.05),which can explained 35.3% of the total variation. Conclusions The work engagement of nurses in psychiatric hospitals in Shaanxi Province is at a moderate level. The professional title,weekly working hours,nurses' participation in hospital affairs,nursing managers' ability and leadership style have an impact on work engagement of nurses. It is suggested that nursing managers improve their own management ability and skills,and encourage nurses to participate in the daily decision-making of the department,so as to improve the level of nurses' work engagement.
