Abstract:

Objective To establish a graphite furnace atomic absorption method for the determination of bismuth telluride in the workplace environment. Methods Preparation of microporous filter membrane samples using bismuth telluride standard material. After treatment, palladium nitrate and magnesium nitrate were used as matrix modifiers for graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy to measure bismuth atomic content and calculate bismuth telluride. Results The linear relationship between 0-100 μg/L was good, the correlation coefficient(r) was 0.999 3,and the detection limit of the method was 3.252 μg/L. Based on the collecting of 75 L of air sample, the minimum detection concentration was 0.83 μg/m3,the recovery rate was 96.8% to 103.2%,the relative standard deviation was less than 5% and the sample can be stored for at least 7 days under sealed conditions at room temperature. Conclusion This method uses low toxicity bismuth instead of toxic tellurium for detection to reduce the risk of poisoning for experimental personnel, avoid interference from coexisting tellurides in the sampling site, and does not require the use of expensive inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometers, making it easy to popularize and apply. This method has a small sample requirement, low detection limit, sensitivity and accuracy that meet methodological requirements, the instrument has a high degree of automation, and the operation is simple, which can be used for the detection of bismuth telluride in the workplace environment.
