Abstract:

Objective To understand the allocation and utilization of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources in Dongcheng District of Beijing City, and provide reference for the rational allocation of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources by health administrative departments. Methods Based on the Beijing radiation health monitoring information system,a general survey was conducted in all radiological diagnosis and treatment institutions(excluding military hospitals and dental clinics) in Beijing Dongcheng District from April 1,2022 to March 31,2023.The investigation convered the following aspects:The allocation of four types of radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment, namely radiodiagnosis, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology, the distribution of radiological workers and the frequency data of radiological diagnosis and treatment. The number and frequency of radiological diagnosis and treatment were calculated by the total number of permanent residents by the end of 2023 in Beijing Dongcheng District. Results There were 57 hospitals equipped with radiation-generating medical devices in Beijing Dongcheng District in 2023,with an average of 7.72 devices and 24.11 staff in each hospital. The personnel and equipment configuration of tertiary medical institutions were better than those of secondary and primary medical institutions, and the difference was statistically significant(H=22.463,24.480,both P<0.01). 100.00% of the nuclear medicine equipment,81.25% of the radiotherapy equipment, and 84.85% of the interventional radiology equipment were concentrated in tertiary medical institutions, while primary and lower level institutions did not have nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, and breast X-ray detection equipment. There were 625 radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment per million population, including 78.13 CT machines,46.88 interventional radiology equipment,19.89 breast X-ray equipment,22.73 radiotherapy equipment, and 19.89 nuclear medicine related equipment. The total frequency of radiation exposure was 2 193 710,mainly focused on plain radiographs and computed tomography(CT) examinations, accounting for 41.73% and 49.70%,respectively. The annual frequency of examinations was 1 300.34 times/1 000 population and 1 548.59 times/1 000 population, respectively. The total frequency of medical radiological examinations was 3 116.07 times/1 000 population. Conclusion The application frequency of radiological diagnosis and treatment in Dongcheng District of Beijing City belongs to the level of level I healthcare, and the allocation of radiological diagnosis and treatment resources is relatively high, but the distribution is uneven in different levels of medical institutions. The health administrative department should fully utilize the advantages of medical consortia, effectively implement graded diagnosis and treatment, and improve the overall utilization rate of resources.
