Abstract:

As a part of healthy lifestyle, reasonable diet is an important measure for the prevention and treatment of nutrition-related chronic diseases. With increasing evidence supporting the role of nutrition and diet in the onset and progression of chronic disease, there has been a call for greater attention to nutritional literacy. However, there is no unified definition of nutrition literacy, and research on nutrition literacy assessment tools for patients with nutrition-related chronic diseases are still relatively limited. Therefore, this study aims to clarify the boundaries of different assessment tools by combing and summarizing domestic and foreign studies on the definition of nutritional literacy and nutritional literacy assessment tools for patients with nutrition-related chronic diseases,so as to provide reference and guidance for the formation of a clear and rigorous definition of nutritional literacy, the development of nutritional literacy assessment tools for patients with nutrition-related chronic diseases, and the corresponding clinical research.
