Abstract: Objective To understand the characteristics and trends of occupational diseases in Taicang City,provide reference for formulating occupational disease prevention and control strategies. Methods The new occupational disease cases from January 1,2006 to December 31,2023 were derived from the "China Disease Prevention and Control Information System,Occupational Disease and Health Hazard Monitoring Information System",and the data were analyzed. Results From 2006 to 2023,there were 185 new cases（7 categories,27 kinds） of occupational diseases in Taicang City. The overall incidence of occupational diseases was on the rise. The top three new cases of disease were occupational otorhinolaryngology and oral diseases（34.05%）,pneumoconiosis and other respiratory diseases（31.89%）,and occupational chemical poisoning（26.49%）. The male to female ratio of new cases was 4.14 ∶ 1. The average age of onset was 44.94 years old,and the median length of service was 6.08 years. The new cases were mainly found in the manufacturing industry（97.30%）,the enterprise scale was mainly small（63.24%） and medium（30.81%） types,and the economic type was mainly domestic enterprises（62.16%）. Conclusions The incidence of occupational diseases in Taicang City from 2006 to 2023 is on the rise,and occupational otorhinolaryngology and oral diseases have become a new challenge. In Taicang City,it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of occupational diseases in small and medium-sized domestic manufacturing enterprises,with a focus on non-metallic mineral products,metal products,rubber and plastic products in the manufacturing industry. The occupational chemical poisoning is in a low state in recent years,but it is still necessary to prevent the occurrence of acute collective poisoning.
