Research progress of circRNAs as potential biomarkers of disease

Abstract

Abstract:

The circular RNA（circRNAs） is a unique type of RNA molecule by a closed loop structure present in various organisms.This circular configuration imparts greater stability to circRNAs compared to linear RNA，and it showcases traits such as diversity，universality，stability，specificity and conservatism.In clinical settings，diseases are often diagnosed at advanced stages，missing the optimal treatment window.Numerous studies have shown that circRNAs can be detected in body fluids，and their unique expression profiles are closely linked to disease progression.Therefore，circRNAs present in body fluids hold promise as a novel biomarker for disease diagnosis.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the differential expression levels of circRNAs in body fluids across various disease states.
