Abstract:

Objective To investigate the current status and influencing factors of work-related behaviors, psychological resilience, and occupational burnout among cardiology nurses, and analyze the relationships and mediating effects among the three factors, aiming to improve occupational burnout among cardiology nurses and enhance the efficiency of clinical nursing work. Methods From June to August 2025,a random sampling method(random number table method) was used to select respondents. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 185 cardiology nurses from seven grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospitals in Beijing using the general situation scale, work connectedness scale, resilience scale, and burnout scale. The influencing factors of work-related behaviors, psychological resilience, and occupational burnout,as well as the correlation among them, were analyzed. The mediating effect of psychological resilience on the relationship between work-related behaviors and burnout among cardiology nurses was also investigated. Results The scores of work connectedness, psychological resilience and job burnout of cardiology nurses were (18.24±3.84),(97.42±14.63) and (60.32±12.54)points,respectively. There were statistically significant differences in job burnout, work connectedness and psychological resilience among cardiology nurses in terms of age, total clinical nursing work hours, nursing professional title, average number of night shifts per month, average monthly total salary and marital status(all P<0.05). The work connectedness score of cardiology nurses was positively correlated with job burnout score(r=0.628,P<0.01) and negatively correlated with psychological resilience scores(r=-0.524,P<0.01). Psychological resilience score was also negatively correlated with job burnout score(r=-0.591,P<0.01). Psychological resilience partially mediated the relationship between work connectedness and burnout in cardiology nurses, with an effect value of 0.227,accounting for 34.08% of the total effect. Conclusion Work connectivity and psychological resilience are important factors influencing occupational burnout among cardiology nurses. Work connectivity directly affects burnout or indirectly through the mediating role of psychological resilience. Improving work connectivity and psychological resilience in cardiology nurses can significantly reduce the severity of their occupational burnout.
