Abstract:

Objective To explore the mediating role of psychological resilience of nurses in health examination centers between leadership empowerment and occupational burnout, and to provide reference for developing intervention measures to reduce nurse occupational burnout and improve clinical nursing work efficiency. Methods Convenience sampling was used to survey 192 nurses from health examination centers in 8 grade-A tertiary comprehensive hospitals in Beijing City using the leadership authorization empowerment scale, psychological resilience scale, and occupational burnout scale from June to July 2025,and the data were analyzed. Results The leadership empowerment score of 192 nurses in the health examination center was (42.86±6.48)points,the psychological resilience score was (91.49±16.52)points,and the occupational burnout score was (60.46±13.24)points. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of leadership empowerment, psychological resilience and occupational burnout of nurses in health examination centers with different age, work experience, nursing professional title level, and average monthly salary(all P<0.05). There was statistically significant difference in the scores of leadership empowerment of nurses in health examination centers with different marital statuses(P<0.05). The leadership empowerment of nurses in health examination centers was negatively correlated with occupational burnout(r=-0.602,P<0.01),and positively correlated with psychological resilience(r=0.584,P<0.01). Psychological resilience was negatively correlated with occupational burnout(r=-0.538,P<0.01). Psychological resilience partially mediated the relationship between leadership empowerment and occupational burnout of nurses in health examination centers, with an effect value of -0.319,accounting for 44.00% of the total effect. Conclusion Psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between leadership empowerment and occupational burnout among nurses in health examination centers. Health examination center managers should fully utilize this mediating role of psychological resilience to enhance nurses' leadership empowerment and psychological resilience, thereby reducing their level of occupational burnout。
