Abstract:

Objective To understand the current status of occupational stress and turnover intention among junior male nurses in general hospitals in Henan Province, and to analyze the correlation between occupational stress and turnover intention. Methods From January to April 2025,207 junior male nurses in general hospitals in Henan Province were chosen randomly for survey using general information survey form,Chinese nurses stressor scale, and resignation intention scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The overall score of occupational stress of low seniority male nurses was (80.34±23.45)points,which was at a heavy level, and the overall score of turnover intention was (17.93±2.54)points,which was at a relatively high level. Correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between occupational stress and turnover intention among low seniority male nurses(r=0.295,P<0.01). Conclusion Occupational stress of low seniority male nurses has a direct effect on the turnover intention, and occupational stress is likely to occur among male nurses with higher education, lower length of service, and junior professional titles.
