Abstract:

As a primary risk factor for numerous chronic diseases, obesity has become a major challenge for global public health. Research indicates that its core pathophysiological mechanisms are intimately linked to the exacerbation of chronic low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress. Dietary antioxidants, such as vitamin C,vitamin E,and polyphenolic compounds, can mitigate oxidative damage, regulate metabolism, ameliorate insulin resistance, and exert anti-inflammatory effects, thus representing a potential strategy for intervening in obesity and its related metabolic complications. This article reviews the pivotal role of oxidative stress in the onset and progression of obesity, summarizes the research evidence of dietary antioxidants in clinical interventions,in order to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of obesity and related metabolic diseases through dietary approaches.
