Application progress of health action process approach theory in self-management of chronic disease

Abstract: Chronic diseases have a significant impact on the health and quality of life of individuals worldwide. To promote the self-management of chronic diseases patients,it is crucial to develop a comprehensive and sustainable health action self-management strategy with the help of effective theories. Health action process approach(HAPA) theory is a behavior change theory that aims to reveal the process by which individuals change unhealthy behaviors,as well as adopt,maintain,and restore healthy behaviors. This article summarizes the application progress of HAPA theory in self-management of chronic disease in recent years,in order to provide reference and guidance for the practice of chronic disease management.
