Analysis on occupational well-being status and influencing factors of nursing staff in Jinshan District of Shanghai City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the status quo of occupational well-being of nurses in Jinshan District of Shanghai City,analyze its influencing factors,and provide scientific basis for improving the occupational well-being of nurses. Methods Using the cross-sectional survey method,468 nurses in Jinshan District of Shanghai City were selected as the research objects from February to March 2023. The basic information questionnaire and the occupational well-being scale for medical staff were used to conduct the questionnaire survey,and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of occupational well-being of nurses in Jinshan District of Shanghai City was (81.23±10.34)points,and the average score of each item was (3.38±0.43)points. There was no statistically significant difference in the total score of occupational well-being among nurses in different medical institutions(P>0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the total score of occupational well-being among nurses with different marital status,professional title,income level and working years(all P<0.05). The multiple linear regression analysis showed that hospital type,marital status,job satisfaction,sleep and working hours,children's status,and night shift frequency were the main factors affecting occupational well-being and its dimensions(all P<0.05). Conclusion The occupational well-being of nurses in Jinshan District of Shanghai City is at a medium level,suggesting that hospital managers should take targeted intervention measures according to the main influencing factors of occupational well-being to improve the occupational well-being of nurses.
