Analysis on correlation between professional life quality and professional respect,professional identity,organizational commitment among nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin City

Abstract: Objective To understand the current situation of the professional quality of life of nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin City,explore its correlation with professional respect,professional identity,and organizational commitment,and provide reference for constructing intervention plans to improve the professional quality of life of nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin City. Methods A questionnaire survey was used to select 390 nurses from three grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin City from January to April 2023 as the survey subjects. The general information questionnaire,work-related quality of life(WRQoL),job-esteem scale for nurses in hospital(JES-HN),occupational identity scale(OIS) and Chinese employees organizational commitment questionnaire(CEOCQ) were employed for the questionnaire survey,and the data were analyzed. Results The total WRQoL score of nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin City was (90.35±28.49)points,which was at a moderate level. The total JES-HN score was (74.21±24.89)points,which was above the average level. The total score of OIS was (88.72±31.21)points,which was above the average level. The total score of CEOCQ was (65.50±17.05)points,which was above the average level. The quality of professional life was positively correlated with professional respect,professional identity,and organizational commitment(r=0.453, 0.355,0.411,all P<0.01). Conclusions The professional quality of life of nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin is at a moderate level,and there is still room for improvement. It is positively correlated with professional respect,professional identity,and organizational commitment. It is suggested that relevant departments and hospital management should establish and improve the professional life quality and health training system for nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin,enhance nurses' professional respect and identity through multiple channels and levels,strengthen organizational commitment,so as to improve the professional life quality of nurses.
