Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of innovation ability of nursing undergraduates, and analyze the impact of innovative self-efficacy,innovative atmosphere in universities and social support on innovative ability. Methods From September to December 2022,292 full-time nursing students from 4 universities in Jiangxi and Hubei Province were investigated using the general information questionnaire, the innovation ability questionnaire for college students, the innovation self efficacy scale for college students, the innovation atmosphere scale for colleges and universities and the youth social support scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The score of innovation ability of undergraduate nursing students was (53.96±8.57)points,the score of innovative self-efficacy was (28.16±5.44)points,the score of innovative atmosphere in universities was (40.86±5.22)points,and the score of social support was (71.33±12.99)points. The total score of innovation ability was positively correlated with the total score of innovative self-efficacy(r=0.656,P<0.01),positively correlated with the total score and various dimensions of university innovative atmosphere(r=0.153-0.443,all P<0.01),and positively correlated with the total score and various dimensions of social support(r=0.531-0.588,all P<0.01). Regression analysis showed that whether to serve as a class leader, innovative self-efficacy,innovative atmosphere in universities, and social support could explain 53.3% of the variation in innovation ability of nursing undergraduates. Conclusion Innovative self-efficacy,innovative atmosphere in universities, and social support have a significant impact on the innovation ability of nursing undergraduates. It is recommended that nursing undergraduates actively strengthen their innovative self-efficacy,and universities create a good innovative atmosphere for nursing undergraduates.
