Results The awareness rate of basic knowledge about SARS-CoV infection among 1 834 medical college students, and the awareness rates of various items were 88.7%-99.7%. There were statistically significant differences in the awareness rates of discovery pathway of SARS-CoV infection, definition of suspected cases and definition of cluster epidemic among medical college students with different demographic characteristics(all P<0.05). The gender, specialty and grade were the factors influencing the awareness rate of basic knowledge about SARS-CoV infection(all P<0.05).
