Abstract: Scrub typhus is a natural focus disease of epidemic origin caused by the Orientia tsutsugamushi, which is hosted by small mammals and transmitted through the bite of tsutsugamushi mite larvae. China is one of the major endemic areas of scrub typhus, and in recent years, the natural focus of scrub typhus has shown a trend of expanding northward, posing a serious risk to public health and public health safety in China. This article reviews the latest research progress on the risk factors for the onset of scrub typhus, providing a reference basis for further prevention and control of scrub typhus.
