Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status of occupational stress, occupational burnout and sleep quality of environmental sanitation workers in Beijing, explore the correlation between occupational stress, occupational burnout and sleep quality of environmental sanitation workers. Methods A total of 730 environmental sanitation workers in Beijing were selected as the research objects by cross-sectional survey from March 2022 to April 2023. The general information questionnaire,China occupational stress response scale, general occupational burnout scale, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale were used for investigation, and the data were analyzed. Results The occupational stress score of environmental sanitation workers in Beijing was (43.04±12.35)points,the occupational burnout score was (56.74±11.34)points,and the sleep quality score was (8.43±2.60)points.64.7% of environmental sanitation workers had sleep disorders. The occupational stress of environmental sanitation workers was positively correlated with occupational burnout and sleep quality(r=0.527,0.445,both P<0.01),while occupational burnout was positively correlated with sleep quality(r=0.392,P<0.01). The occupational burnout played a partial mediating role between occupational stress and sleep quality among environmental sanitation workers, with a mediating effect value of 0.167,accounting for 26.09% of the total effect. Conclusion The sleep quality of environmental sanitation workers in Beijing is poor, occupational stress has a direct predictive effect on sleep quality, occupational burnout plays a partial positive mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress and sleep quality of environmental sanitation workers, and reducing occupational stress and burnout is beneficial for improving the sleep quality of environmental sanitation workers.
