Research progress on correlation between cognitive function,depressive symptoms and family function among elderly people in the community

Abstract: The pace of global population aging is rapidly accelerating,which has had many impacts on society,economy and health. The decline in cognitive function of the elderly is crucial for the quality of life,family care and care burden in their later years. Depression symptoms are important influencing factors for the decline of cognitive function in the elderly,and changes in family structure caused by aging also dynamically affect their cognitive function. At the same time,the quality of family function affects the psychological health of the elderly and the occurrence and development of their own diseases,thereby affecting the cognitive function development of the elderly. This article reviews the current research status and interrelationships among cognitive function,depressive symptoms and family function among elderly people in the community.
