Abstract: Objective To investigate the quality of life of elderly hospitalized cases with falls in Putuo District of Shanghai, and explore its influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for improving the quality of life of elderly hospitalized cases with falls. Methods The patients hospitalized for the first time due to falls in the second and third level hospitals in Putuo District of Shanghai from January to December 2022 were derived from the injury hospitalization monitoring system, and 1 182 eligible cases were investigated based on the questionnaire designed by the MOS 36-item short from health survey(SF-36) scale. Results The scores of physical health, mental health and total quality of life of elderly hospitalized cases with falls six months after discharge were (51.53±22.94),(57.98±21.21) and (54.76±21.39)points,respectively. The passing rates of physical health, mental health and total quality of life scores were 35.20%,44.40% and 41.90%,respectively. Comparing the scores of quality of life in different dimensions of different genders, the scores of males were higher than those of females. Except for social vitality, social function and mental health, the differences in scores between males and females were statistically significant(all P<0.05). The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender, regular follow-up visits, housework, sleep and exercise were the factors affecting the quality of life of elderly hospitalized cases after six months of discharge. Conclusion The quality of life of elderly hospitalized patients with falls in the second and third level hospitals in Putuo District of Shanghai is generally poor after half a year of rehabilitation. In addition to taking intervention measures to improve the quality of life, fall prevention should be strengthened to avoid the occurrence of serious fall injuries.
