Analysis of current situation of radiation protection management in non-medical institutions with nuclear technology in Deyang City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the occupational health status of non-medical institutions with nuclear technology and radiation workers in Deyang City,and strengthen radiation protection. Methods According to the requirements for monitoring of radioactive hazards in non-medical institutions with nuclear technology in Deyang City in 2022,field investigation,questionnaire filling,and on-site monitoring were conducted to conduct surveys,and sampling on-site testing of radioactive hazard factors was carried out. Results There were 49 non-medical institutions with nuclear technology in Deyang City,with 454 radiation workers. The occupational health examination rate was 85.5%,and the personal dose monitoring rate was 71.4%. There were 137 Class Ⅱ radiation devices,8 Class Ⅲ radiation devices,19 exemption devices,34 Class Ⅱ radiation sources,29 Class Ⅳ radiation sources,and 21 Class Ⅴ radiation sources. A total of 41 institutions had conducted testing of radioactive hazards in radiation workplaces,with the monitoring rate of 83.7% and the monitoring qualification rate of 100.0%. Conclusion The health administrative department of Deyang City should strengthen the guidance and supervision of the management of radiation workers,as well as the supervision and inspection of radiation occupational hazards,in order to further protect the health rights of radiation workers.
