Study on the intervention effect of Mexilaifu aerobics combined with APP health education on psychological capital and inferiority mentality of Uyghur adolescents

Abstract: Objective To understand the intervention effect of Mexilaifu aerobics combined with APP health education on the psychological capital and inferiority complex of Uyghur adolescents,and to provide support for the physical and mental development of Uyghur adolescents. Methods From March to June 2023,Uyghur students in the first and second grades of senior high school in Urumqi were randomly selected and divided into a control group(151 people) and an intervention group (155 people). They underwent a 12 week Maixilaifu aerobics combined with APP health education intervention. Psychological scales were used to evaluate before and after the intervention,and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of psychological inferiority complex in the intervention group was (18.49±4.07)points before intervention and (14.73±3.81)points after intervention,with a statistically significant difference(t=8.397,P<0.01).The physical self-esteem score in the intervention group was (71.06±10.79) points before intervention and (80.15±10.93)points after intervention,with a statistically significant difference(t=7.368,P<0.01).The psychological capital score in the intervention group was (93.98±12.11)points before intervention,and (100.48±9.52)points after intervention,with a statistically significant(t=5.253,P<0.01).After intervention,the total scores of self-esteem,social confidence,physical fitness,learning ability,appearance and inferiority complex in the intervention group in Uyghur adolescents were significantly reduced compared with before intervention,and the differences were statistically significant(t=7.761,9.267,8.846,38.330,11.471,8.397,all P<0.01). The intervention group showed significantly higher scores in self-worth,physical fitness,physical condition,motor skills,physical attractiveness,and self-esteem compared to before the intervention(t=-6.004,-8.288,-7.810,-5.872,-8.724,-7.368,all P<0.01). After intervention,the intervention group had significantly higher scores in self-efficacy,optimism,resilience,and total psychological capital than before intervention,and the differences were statistically significant(t=-7.950,-5.703,-5.863,-5.253,all P<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference between the control group before and after intervention(all P>0.05). Conclusion The combination of Maixilaifu aerobics and APP health education can effectively improve the inferiority complex of Uyghur adolescents and promote the improvement of self-esteem and psychological capital levels.
