Abstract: With the increase of human life expectancy and the decrease of birth rate, the absolute number of elderly population has increased dramatically worldwide. Aging frailty has become one of the major public health problems in China, which not only leads to multiple impairments in physiological, psychological, social, and cognitive functions of the elderly, but also increases the burden on caregivers and the healthcare service system. A number of national policies have called for active attention to the health of the elderly from both macro and micro perspectives to address the health problems of the elderly. At present, there is a lack of standardized management procedures for frailty, and a large number of frail patients are in an unmanaged state. Therefore, the care management of frail patientsis crucial. This study reviews the current development status of major caregivers and care management models for frail elderly people at home and abroad, and discusses the types of frail caregiver populations and the advantages and disadvantages of care management models, aiming to provide a basis for group organizations that carry out care for frail elderly patients.
