Advances in study of social frailty

Abstract: In recent years,along with the continuous advancement of the elderly prevention and health care work,the social frailty gradually attracts people's attention. The social frailty refers to the continuous state in which the elderly lose or have lost social and general resources,activities or abilities,which can cause damage in a single or multiple areas(such as physical,psychological and social) of the elderly. The research shows that the occurrence of social frailty seriously endangers the health of the elderly,reduces the quality of life,and increases the burden of caregivers and society. The paper reviews concept,screening tools and epidemic situation of social frailty,summarizes the influencing factors and intervention measures of social frailty in the elderly,in order to improve raise the attention of domestic medical staff to social frailty,and provide reference for further research and better prevention and improvement of social frailty among the elderly,maintaining their health,and achieving active aging.
