Relationship between perceived stress and self-compassion,depression and its influencing factors among anesthesiologists in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Jiangsu Province

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation and relationship of perceived stress,self-compassion and depression among anesthesiologists in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Jiangsu Province,explore the influencing factors of perceived stress among anesthesiologists,so as to provide reference for coping with the high stress state of anesthesiologists and improving their mental health. Methods From February to March 2022,a cross-sectional survey method was adopted to conduct an online questionnaire survey among 374 anesthesiologists in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Jiangsu Province,and the data were analyzed. Results Among the 374 anesthesiologists,75.50% of them were in a state of moderate or above perceived stress,and 28.08% were in a state of moderate depression or above. The anesthesiologists' perceived stress was negatively correlated with self-compassion,and positively correlated with depression(all P<0.05). The years of practice,satisfaction with income,self-compassion and depression were the influencing factors of anesthesiologists' perceived stress(all P<0.05). Conclusion The anesthesiologists in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Jiangsu Province have a higher level of perceived stress and depression,their mental health status is not optimistic,and it is effective to take interventions to enhance individuals' self-compassion level and improve the work environment,to promote the physical and mental health of anesthesiologists.
