Investigation on formaldehyde concentration and its influencing factors in new houses in Nanchang City

Abstract: Objective To understand the current situation of formaldehyde pollution in new houses in Nanchang and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for the decoration and prevention of formaldehyde pollution in new houses. Methods Totally 95 newly renovated houses randomly selected in Nanchang City from January to December 2023 were sampled and tested for formaldehde by the national standard method,then the 0.08 mg/m3 stipulated in the national standard was used as the limit to judge whether it exceeds the standard. Results There were a total of 188 samples,of which 132 exceeded the standard,exceeding the standard rate of 70.2%,formaldehyde concentration was 0.023-0.986 mg/m3,the average concentration of formaldehyde was 0.213 mg/m3. Indoor formaldehyde concentration was positively correlated with temperature,humidity,decoration completion time,decoration luxury and ventilationconditions(all P<0.05). Conclusion As one of the most important indoor air pollutants,formaldehydeis seriously harmful to human health,and a variety of factors on the impact of formaldehyde release should be considerd to take the corresponding measures,so as to avoid the harm of exposure to formaldehyde.
