Abstract: Objective To analyze the plane layout of 131I radionuclide treatment workplace in a hospital in Zhanjiang and the problems existing in the shielding facilities during the construction of the project in 2023,and put forward the rectification scheme and validate the shielding protection effect. Methods According to the relevant laws, regulations and standards of the state, the consistency of the layout of the workplace in different construction stages was analyzed, and the ambient dose equivalent rate and radioactive contamination level of the workplace were measured. Results It was suggested that the plane layout should be re-evaluated and ensure that the plan layout was basically reasonable because of the change of functional housing in the stage of control effect evaluation. The dose equivalent rate around the focus in the control area was from background to 57.11 μSv/h in the workplace, and from background to 0.26 μSv/h on the outside surface of the distribution cabinet, and from background to 6.60 μSv/h at the boundary between the control area and the monitoring area. There were 4 gamma radiation leaks in the shield, which were outside the door of the in vivo residual test room(57.11 μSv/h),the entrance of the hospital(6.60 μSv/h),the north door of the treatment room(5.02 μSv/h) and the south door of the treatment room(4.92 μSv/h).After field verification and rectification, the radiation level of the workplace could meet the relevant requirements of national standards, and the shielding effect was good. Conclusion Medical institutions should attach great importance to the construction of nuclear medicine projects, strictly follow the pre-evaluation design plan for the construction and construction of the projects, and pay attention to the supervision of shielding construction quality, control radioactive contamination from the source, and minimize the occurrence of potential exposure.
