Research progress of mental toughness status and intervention measures of ICU nurses

Abstract: There is an extreme shortage of nurses around the world. And the nurses in intensive care unit(ICU) often suffer from more pressure and job burnout due to high work intensity,critical illness and other reasons,and the demission rate is also higher. The existing literature confirms that resilience can be a protective factor for ICU nurses to better adapt and cope with stress and trauma.This paper reviews the psychological toughness of ICU nurses from the aspects of definition,status quo and intervention measures,summarizes the research status and development trend of psychological toughness of ICU nurses at home and abroad,discusses the shortcomings and prospects of existing research,and hopes to provide reference for the intervention plan of psychological toughness of ICU nurses in China.In future studies,more attention will be paid to the psychological toughness of ICU nurses andand how to intervene in various aspects to reduce the occurrence of stress and burnout of ICU nurses and stabilize the nursing team.
