Analysis on current situation and correlation of humanistic care ability and professional identity of intern nursing students

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of humanistic care ability and professional identity of intern nursing students and analyze their influencing factors,so as to provide reference for the cultivation of humanistic quality of nursing students. Methods From June to July 2022,185 clinical intern nursing students from 10 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Hainan,Beijing,Xi'an,Guangzhou and Shenzhen were selected as the study subjects using convenience sampling method. A questionnaire survey was conducted on intern nursing students using a general information questionnaire,a humanistic care ability evaluation scale,and a professional identity scale. Results The humanistic care ability score of the intern nursing students was (179±17.1)points,which was in the middle to upper level,and the professional identity score was (65.19±10.36)points,which was in the middle level. The multiple regression analysis showed that the relationship with parents and being a class officer were the main factors influencing the humanistic care ability of intern nursing students(all P<0.05),and the attitude toward nursing profession and being a class officer were the main factors influencing the professional identity of intern nursing students(all P<0.05). Conclusion The humanistic care ability and professional identity of intern nursing students need to be improved,and nursing educators can develop humanistic quality training for nursing students according to their influencing factors to improve their overall humanistic care ability and increase their professional identity.
