Abstract: Objective To understand the current situation of risk perception and each dimension, somatization, depression and anxiety of back-office and field employees in papermaking and related industries, explore the mediating effects of risk susceptibility perception between back-office and field tasks and anxiety level in employees in papermaking and related industries. Methods From January to March 2022,a total of 818 employees in papermaking industry and related industries serving the papermaking industry were selected in this survey. They were investigated with the self-designed basic information questionnaire, risk perception scale, and three factors of somatization, depression and anxiety in SCL-90 scale. The SPSS 24.0 was used for general data, correlation and difference analysis, and PROCESS 3.4 plug-in in SPSS was used for intermediary effect analysis. Results The total score of risk perception in 818 employees was (17.58±5.64)points,the seriousness score was (6.23±2.65)points,susceptibility score was (4.80±1.71)points,and controllability score was (6.55±2.40) points. The total score of SCL-90 somatization was (2.51±3.84)points,total score of depression was (3.50±5.32)points,total score of anxiety was (2.46±3.77)points. There was a positive correlation between risk susceptibility and back-office and field tasks and anxiety level(r=0.107, 0.260,both P<0.01). The risk susceptibility played a complete intermediary role between back-office and field tasks and anxiety level, and the mediating effect accounted for 100.00%. Conclusions The risk susceptibility perception score of field employees is higher than that of back-office employees. The risk susceptibility perception can affect the anxiety level of employees, and risk susceptibility perception plays a complete mediating role between back-office and field tasks and anxiety level. The enterprise managers and social support should focus on improving tolerance range of risk susceptibility perception among field employees,to reduce its impact on anxiety level. Moreover, special attention is needed to be paid to the changes in the mental state of field staff upon their return from the field, with more care and assistance to reduce the physical and mental impact from high risk susceptibility perception.
