Abstract: Objective To investigate and analyze the status quo of medical knowledge among different groups of college students, and explore the methods of carrying out health education courses related to medical knowledge in accordance with their understanding level and systematic norms,so as to provide reliable theoretical basis for the development of comprehensive health education model for college students. Methods A self-compiled questionnaire was used to conduct an online survey of 645 college students in Chengdu City from May to September in 2020,and SPSS 17.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results In terms of basic medication knowledge, the gender and household registration were significantly positively correlated with knowledge of basic medication(β=0.448,0.338,OR=1.565,1.402,both P<0.05).In terms of emergency first aid knowledge, the gender was positively correlated with knowledge of emergency first aid(β=0.376,OR=1.457,P<0.05).In terms of common infectious diseases knowledge, the gender and household registration were significantly positively correlated with knowledge of common infectious diseases(β=0.599,0.334,OR=1.821,1.397,both P<0.05).97.7% of students believed that it is necessary to carry out health education courses related to medical knowledge in colleges and universities,of which the largest demand for courses on basic medical knowledge and first aid knowledge was 83.7% and 83.3%,respectively. Conclusions There are misunderstandings in the common sense of medication and the understanding of medical devices by college students, and the understanding of highly specialized first aid knowledge and hepatitis B is vague and lacking, and they have an urgent need for health education related to medical knowledge. The universities should actively guide and reasonably expand the model and content of health education, and many parties in society should strengthen the comprehensive management of drugs and medical devices and the publicity of common diseases.
