Abstract: Objective To systematically evaluate the incidence of scoliosis in adolescents in China. Methods The articles on the incidence of scoliosis in adolescents in China before August 23,2022 were systematically retrieved in CNKI,WanFang,VIP,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane,Web of Science, and EMbase databases, and meta-analyzed. Results A total of 12 literatures were included, with a total sample size of 249 513 and a total of 2 217 scoliosis. The total incidence of scoliosis in adolescents in China was 1.1%(95%CI:0.81%-1.40%). The results of subgroup analysis showed that the incidence of scoliosis in men was 0.65%(95%CI:0.47%-0.83%),and the incidence of scoliosis in women was 1.16%(95%CI:0.85%-1.48%). The incidence of idiopathic scoliosis was 1.03%(95%CI:0.68-1.38%). The incidence of lateral convex angle of 10°-19° was 0.89%(95%CI:0.55-1.23%). The incidence of scoliosis in the thoracic segment was 0.47%(95%CI:0.27%-0.68%). The incidence of scoliosis in the 10-<13 age group was 0.28%(95%CI:0.08%-0.47%),the incidence of scoliosis in the 13-<15 age group was 0.90%(95%CI:0.57%-0.12%),and the incidence of scoliosis in the 16-<18 age group was 1.08%(95%CI:0.48%-1.68%). Conclusion The incidence of scoliosis in adolescents in China is more common in women and 16-<19 years old,and idiopathic scoliosis is the main type of disease, with an angle of 10°-19° and chest.
